I was playing around yesterday and rolled a ranger in BG1. His stats were:
Strength: 18/55 Dexterity: 19 Constitution: 17 Intelligence: 15 Wisdom: 16 Charisma: 10 This blew my mind. With the books that would make his stats +1 to all. Does anybody see this character as overkill. I didn't know if it would take some of the fun out of the game or not having such super stats. I was going to import to BG2 but I what do you guys think about these stats first. ------------------ Can an elf get a break anywhere these days? http://angelfire.com/rpg/aurican |

They're definitely higher than "normal", but I've seen higher. As long as you rolled them legit, there's nothing wrong with it. Also high stats are really important, but at higher level they're not as important except intelligence for wizards.
BTW: The most important thing is to have fun! GO DWARVES GO! ------------------ "That didn't hurt!" - Volourn Honourblade after the red dragon breathed on him for 75% of his hp. |

Nope, its not overkill. I went thru BG1 and TotSC for my guy. A lot of work went into him.
Elven Fighter/Thief. Str 19 (18 +1 for the tome) Dex 20 (19 for the elf +1 for the tome or it may still be 19, i dont recall) Con 18 (17 elf penalty +1 for the tome) Int 12 Wis 15 Cha 15 or 16. i dont recall. The game is still a challenge. if you think about it the Dex of 19 is not uncommon for an Elf and there are many girdles available to increase your Str to 19 and beyond within the game, add Int and Wis potions that are freely available too and it's fairly easy for anyone to (temporarily for a given battle) surpass your stat's without unbalancing things. You rolled him, you can legally use the tomes and legally import him into bg2, enjoy. PS. Good roll btw. ------------------ It's bleedin dark down here, slippery too. Man, that's a pisser. |

Yes 95 is an excellent roll. They don't get too much higher. The highest I ever rolled was a 94, and that was only once, most of the time my very high ones get to mid 80ish.
Was my Kensai i got that on, never planned on using him, but after a almost perfect roll up, I kept him and turned him into a kensai mage. Str 18/00 (the only 18/00 i ever rolled up in BG) DEX 18 CON 18 INT 18 WIS 18 Char 4 (put a ring of human influence on him, or not) Like I said, I never play him, but hes in my character files. If only for the reason just to look at him and say.. damn, what a roll up. |

Jeez talk about outpowering my stats
Well I guess that doesnt say much for me I usually just take the first roll to make it more true to PnP and roleplaying. But wateva makes the game more fun for you ------------------ "I was born of darkness. My fathers eyes closed before mine opened. I am not of this world or the other, and I have the right to be what I am..." |
