I heard about new patch adds some new nice armors to game. I'm in Chapter 2, if I install the patch will I be able to benefit from the new items too? or you have to start a new game? (after installing the patch?

The patch does add new armor to the game however you will not be able to get these new sets unless your playing in HOF mode. They had decided that they made this mode too difficult and thus added more defence for characters. Yes if your playing in HOF you will be able to get these immediately on installing the patch.
