Did my first ever 25 man raid ever!

Did my first Eye run tonight and you were right Lavi - I did die a bit more. I came 14th in DPS overall and 8th against Void Reaver who we got down to 10% before we had to call it quits. Didn't have to worry about the orbs, but the pounding was a bit of a PITA. That was SO MUCH FUN!

I need to get better geared for raids though - welfare epix just won't cut it for PvE even though they've served me well in PvP. I'm finding that while my S1s can make me more than hold my own against S2/S3/S4 geared players with less skill than me in PvP, in raids you need the gear if you want to increase your DPS. I was doing about 750dps raid buffed which I think is terrible - our top guy was a lock doing 1200.

It all depends how serious you want to take it.

You can farm heroics, for the badges, and then get the badge items. Badge items are very, very good, some of them around T6 level. If you put the time and effort in, you can replace your PvE gear with the badge items.

Also, once per week, run Karazhan with your guild, and get on any other raid possible.

So did you down any bosses? Or did you go for Void Reaver first?

And 700DPS is very low for the Eye, but you know this, as indicated as 14th overall DPS...I'm guessing thats last, as you probably had 4 tanks and 7 healers. Just up to you to work it, PvE requires skill, but also gear.

Edit - Were you in a PvE spec?

These are our 4 main rogues, but they all PvP, so you may find them as PvP on armory. they just respec for every raid back to PvE.

We went to Void first - we cleared out Alar's room but didn't do him, we went to Void. We had issues with people coming and going though. We had about 18 people from our guild and the rest were basically add-ins from other guilds that people knew. 14th overall includes people who came, fought a couple of fights, ended up with 1000dps for that fight then had to leave. So I don't think I came last - I came second of the four rogues we had, and 8th of "active" (ie were still there at the end) players overall. On Void I was doing about 812dps. We had about 4 guys (1 lock, 2 hunters and a mage) that were doing 1000-1200 dps, then there was a bunch of us (hunters, rogues, other locks, etc) in the 900-600 bracket, then it was down to 250-300 for the tanks.

I need more gear I think.

Well, like I said, only way to do it is to raid, and do heroics.

Go to every raid you can, do Kara each week, roll on everything you need, and farm heroics for the badges. If you wanna invest the time, you can farm badges really fast.

Lavi, I checked that bloke BVE from your guild and he has nearly an identical spec to mine, so from a build PoV I'm using the right one (Combat Swords). Basically just need more AP and gear, he has a shitload more than me lol.

Finishing off Kara tonight - we'll be doing Netherspite and Nightbane. Any tips?

Grats on the kill and welcome to 25 man!

Who were your party mates? Make sure you are paired with enchance shaman (windfury), cat/bear druid (+5% crit), ret pally (+2% raid damage) , fury/arm warrior (+2% physical damage, +300ap buff) , mark hunter (140ap buff ). Without these buff, your dps will be very very low.

Wait for your tank to put up a 5k threat first before you dps, vanish when your threat nearly overcap the tank, around 2k threat or so. Be prepared to evasion tank the boss at a moment notice.

Also remember to use your cooldowns when they are up.

You need to bring these to raid.
-Flask of relentless assault
-Major agility potion (I might have mix the name up)
-Major agility scroll
-Talbuk food (the one that gives you +20 hit rating)
-Warp burger
-Haste Drums (since you are a leatherworker)
-Repair Bot ( I assume an engineer can make this )

Remember to have dbm, omen on but do not simply trust what dbm tells you, it is sometimes inaccurate. DO NOT KEEP ON POSTING DAMAGE METER RESULT AT THE CHAT. Your raid will go downhill if you do.

Thanks Kak, I have all those buffs (Flask of Relentless, Major Agi, Talbuk, Drums of Battle). We downed Netherspite, shame Spiteblade didnt drop. Wiped 3 times on Nightbane, our healers kept dying. Came 2nd in DPS with 820.
