I have noticed that I sometimes see critters I have slain in the game as only black silhouettes. Their treasure is still there, but they are black critter shaped splotches. Hopefully there is a fix coming with the Downloadable Dungeon kit.

You're seeing dead people!
(only funny if you have seen the movie, right)?

Have you tried turning off the transparent shadows and such to see if it affects the visual? Maybe your char. has an innate abiltity, like that girl in the Spellhold, who saw things no one else did, and it drove her crazy...

(I am not much help on this one...just havin' some fun...sorry)

I've noticed that the bodies lay there for a while. One example is salamanders. After you kill them, they just kind of lay around and sizzle for a while. If you rest and come back, the bodies disappear. If you rest a long time and come back the treasure disappears too.

Shadows look like grey silhouettes when they are dead...

Could it have something to do with the detail level fou have set for the game? Have you toyed with the settings?

Yup...lol "I see dead people"
Nope these are pitch black as if the gif for the dead critter has not loaded. Not dead undead...does that make sense?
I have not toyed with any of the game settings except to enable the cheats.
The bodies and treasure are set to decay at certain rates. Bodies faster than treasure.

I have installed the 1.06 patch available for IWD. I have HoW installed and the 1.41 patch for it as well. This does not seem to hinder the game in any way...just looks, well, odd.

Oooh oooh I know!

Have you been using any spells involving fire?
Burnt dead creatures are black.
Is this a possibility?
