I think your right Chewie, they took another prestige class out, and put that in, but I can't remember what it was. I played one once, and have to agree with Legolas. I sure could have put those five lvls somewhere else.

You can do a lot worse, character-wise, both from roleplaying and powergaming points of view.
Adding fighter and/or COT levels to a paladin makes a lot more sense.
If everyone only ever did things which make sense, the world would be a very boring place.

I seem to recall seeing that WOTC said this class is only 5 levels when BIOWARE wanted to make it a 10 level class.

Ranger/Rogue/Harper Scout. The Ranger class gets a decent boost to its' will save, keeps a decent amount of skill points/choices and gains some useful abilities that allow the Ranger to keep pace with the Fighter and the Paladin at pre-epic levels. Combining the Scout's Sleep and the Rogue's sneak attack can be a way of dealing with roomfuls of weak bad guys, and with two small weapons/ranged weapon, weapon finesse, some light armour and two castings of Cat's Grace, the build can hold its' own in a combat situation.
