We all know 'em, I'm pretty sure we've all played them, and some of us love 'em. So, what's your favorite FPS game? Maybe oldschool FPS, like Doom? Or, maybe you enjoy Half-Life? It would've been useless to make it a poll, there's too many of 'em!

Personally, my favorite is an oldschool one that probably isn't as popular as some: Heretic.

Nothing, and I seriously mean nothing, beats being an Alien in AvP2

What gets close is absolute fragging action in UT with the right Mutators loaded I recommend Unreal4Ever or U4E. It adds some kewl weapons and classes

Deus Ex by far,
then CS and multiplayer RTCW.

I miss the good ol' chainsaw of doom and the grin Blaskovitch made when he got his first chaingun in the original Wolfenstein.

Halflife, just started playing it again after 2 years away from it and it is just as great as I remembered...
Those facecrabs still give me chills...

but here is my top 5
Halflife
Jedi Knight
Quake 2 (the only Quake game I actually found fun and completed)
Alien vs Predator (sleepless nights)
Deus Ex (well I only played the demo but damn!!!)

There is also a game called Blood I have a soft spot for, because in on of the levels you walk into a Circustent and if you go into the audiencestand the guy you play chants "We want Jo Jo, We want Jo Jo, Jo Jo, Jo Jo"... it is one of the funniest gaming moment ever...

While doom was good and all it didn't have much of a plot, now Marathon on the other hand had an AMAZING plot that spanned many MANY hundreds of years and had a GREAT multiplayer set up... I'm sure that you've heard of the latest installment in the marathon saga, yes? It looked a little something like this

So i'd have to say that the best FPS of all time were:

Marathon
Marathon2
Marathon Infinity
Marathon Evil
Marathon Rubicon
Marathon GL
and that other one...
