I've just stumbled across this mod. Has anyone tried it? Any thoughts? Thanks.

i hated it. just couldn't get my head around the kits. the weapons restrictions ate at me too, it just didn't seem right somehow.
however, it does add an alternative to the cleric kits, which is always a bonus. [EDIT] just realised i had ashes of embers installed when i had cleric remix. therefore, ignore my opinions on this subject [ 07-29-2004, 05:10 PM: Message edited by: Thrain ]

I find it quite good. The 'Spheres' in the Cleric spell descriptions make sense now. It doesn't make Clerics much better against Mages, unfortunately, but in it's defense it doesn't claim to either. And it isn't the *Cleric's* fault that mages in this game are given most of the good spells and almost all of the best items.

Except for the FoA and Armor of the Heart, right?

Compare and contrast: FOA vs SoTM . Ages is quite a good weapon, yes, but Magi is better on the whole. Getting through stoneskin is one thing. Getting rid of stoneskin is better. Ages only real benifit over Magi is it's slow... but Magi has it's invisibility, and it's spell trap, and it's fireball-lightning.
Armour of the Heart vs. Robe of Vecna: Heart has better AC and from memory (haven't played through to where you get it in far too long, so I could be very wrong) not much else. Vecna makes you cast spells faster. But one thing I do plan to do at some point, is to tone down SoTM and RoV a bit, and improve the Cleric's Staff + 3 to be, well, more Clericy than a generic Staff + 3 that glows blue... |

Good idea. You're right about both the SoTM and RoV, of course. They're both arguably overpowered for the standard game. By the way, AotH is -2, IIRC.
Thanks for your thoughts on the Remix. I'm looking to add some interesting (read: non-ridiculous) mods to the game and will keep it in mind.
