okay.. i just finished this nice new brand new game in 3 days straight (hardcore computer gaming)

personal comments.. well

good thing.. i loved the graphics, sounds, fight scenes, action and tactics. I loved the storyline and animation. I liked the subquest main quest and unexpected comedy antics...

now the bad part..

ITS TOO DAMN SHORT!!!! heck in 3 days i was able to finish it.. they should have made it longer and bigger map.. and better extended storyline.. did i say it was short?

i do have some questions about it though..

i never really finished a couple of quest
- going to the dark side
- stowaway
- bountyhunting

any bonus in this kinda thing?

also i pursued dual wielding sabers with critical strike plus force powers (also stun powers)..

which do you guys perfer? critical strike? power strike or flurry?

also in the last part of the game (spoil ahead)
how are you able to free the captive jedi using the force? i could not do it. which force power are you suppose to have?

Destroy Droid Korriban's Sith Temples are a pushover with the help of that force power.

I have finished the game 3 times and I think I have covered most of the side quests.

1. Dark side - Never tried that. Not my style.

2. Stowaway - Learn her language. Speak to the Twilek guy in Dantooine (near the docking bay). You can either help him for free (light side points) or ask some money. I always do the good deed. Not sure if you would gain any dark side point for asking for the reward.

3. Bounty Hunter - all quests yield some interesting items but the trade off here is the dark side point, unless you are a dark sider. However, even you are a light sider, you should have enough good deed to perform in Korriban to offset the dark points. Provided that you must be a good boy in Korriban. I usually do this right after Kashyyyk, therefore the good deeds in Manaan and Korriban were more than enough to counter the dark side points. My PC regained his light mastery about 80% through Korriban.

My favorite fighting style:

- Master dueling (1 handed melee fighting)
- Master Flurry + Master speed

Good against most foes, even Malak. With this combination, my "To Hit" bonus is usually more than 30, with "Mantle of Force" equipped sabre.

FYI, Mantle of Force and Heart of the Guardian are only available for PC version of KoTOR only. They are available at Yavin station after all star maps have been acquired (prior to Star Forge system). They costs about 40K+ (total), be advised to save your credits up for these two cool lightsabre crystals.

To free the captive Jedis in the Star Forge, you can use "Destroy bots". For dark sider, use "steal life" on them to regain your health.

Mad

One more spoiler.

Is Malak frying you too often with force lightning? Read on for a nice tip on how to counter this menace.

There is a belt in Kashyyyk which renders you 100% immune to electrical damage. You will have to acquire to before the wookies overrun the Czerka outpost. It is sold by the trader outside the Czerka office and costs about 6.8K

I have tested the belt on both occasions in Korriban (the crazy hermit quest) and Star Forge and it works like a charm. Once equipped, you are totally immune to force lightning....Mwhahahaah!

i actually tried doing the darkside.. just the last part with bastilla.. heh.. my two "good" jedi attacked me and bastilla joined me when i accepted the dark side. also your other jedi (the girl forgot her name) can be put into the darkside as well.

another question as well:

who were your partners? i found that any 2 jedi were great in any situation.

Harkoliar,

Below are the descriptions of these two crystal (from one of the faqs):

i. Heart of the Guardian

Blade Color: Orange

Description: Though its origins have been lost, the legendary artifact known as
the Heart of the Guardian was rumored to have been instrumental in the founding
of the guardian order of Jedi. Nothing further is mentioned in any Jedi archive,
but both Sith and Jedi whisper their own legends. According to the Jedi, the
Heart will appear in a time of greatest turmoil and deliver the galaxy into
salvation. The Sith, however, believe it to be an object of their heritage,
which will bring the galaxy under their dominion.

The Heart of the Guardian appears to be a magnificently shaped lightsaber
crystal of unknown composition. Analysis by Suvam Tan has yielded inconclusive
results, not being able to identify what mineral it's made of. Suvam has even
begun to wonder if it is a normal crystal at all, for at times it almost seems
as if it were alive.

All known lightsaber crystals seem to have a strange resonance with the Heart of
the Guardian, their properties being altered or enhanced when in close proximity
to it. Additionally, energy focused through the Heart results in a beam of
unique clarity and color.

EFFECTS ON ENHANCING CRYSTALS
Bondar - On Hit - Stun 25% for 6 seconds, Save - DC14 to negate stun
Rubat - Damage +2, Attack +2
Sigil - Damage - Energy +1-8, Attack +2
Damind - Damage +2, Attack +3
Nextor - Attack +1 (no Critical Threat Range multiplier)
Opila - Damage +3, Attack +2, +2-12dmg on critical hit
Krayt Dragon Pearl - Damage +1-8, Attack +3
Jenruax - Damage +2, Blaster Deflection +7
Luxum - Damage +2-12 vs. Droid, Attack +3
Eralam - uncertain
Phond - Damage - Physical +1-10
Firkrann - Damage +3-18 vs. Droids, Attack +3
Solari - Damage +1-10, Attack +2, Blaster Deflection +4
Sapith - Damage +4, Attack +3
Upari - Damage +2-12, Attack +4

ii. Mantle of the Force

Blade Color: Turquoise

Description: The Mantle of the Force is an item assembled by Suvam Tan from
pieces found in the ruins of Exar Kun's temples on the fourth moon orbiting
Yavin. It appears to be the remains of an even older artifact of unknown origin.
It is not known if it was used by Exar kun, or just uncovered when his temples
were destroyed. Nor is it known what the original properties of the item were,
but given the current abilities, in its original state it must have been
fearsome indeed.

The Mantle is a crystalline lattice, resembling a lightsaber crystal in many
ways, but having the additional property of being able to radically alter the
flow of energy that passes through it. When combined with other crystals, the
Mantle warps their properties, often enhancing them to incredible levels.

Additionally, the Mantle seems to almost act as a focusing tool for Force-
sensitive individuals, leading to the idea that the original artifact may once
have been a powerful tool of the Sith, or perhaps something they took with them
when the dark Jedi originally split from the Order.

EFFECTS ON ENHANCING CRYSTALS
Bondar - On Hit - Paralyze 25% for 6 seconds, Save - DC14 to negate stun
Rubat - Regeneration Force Points +3
Sigil - Damage - Energy +1-8, Attack +2
Damind - Damage +1, Attack +1, Regeneration Force Points +3
Nextor - Attack +1 (no Critical Threat Range multiplier)
Opila - Damage +3, Attack +2, +2-12dmg on critical hit
Krayt Dragon Pearl - Attack +4, Blaster Deflection +3
Jenruax - Damage +2, Blaster Deflection +7, Dexterity +1
Luxum - Damage +2-12 vs. Droid, Attack +3
Eralam - uncertain
Phond - Damage - Physical +1-10
Firkrann - Damage +3-18 vs. Droids, Attack +3
Solari - Damage +1-8, Damage +2-12 vs. Dark Side, Attack +4
Sapith - Damage +4, Attack +3
Upari - Damage +1-6, Attack +2, Blaster Deflection +8

My favorite crystals combination with Mantle of force: Solari+Sapith (+7 to hit) and tons of damage on the dark jedis, including the puny Malak.

Final note: These two crystals ONLY fit in the middle slot of your lightsabre crystal slots.

My two favorite companions in the Star Forge area are Juhani and Jolee.
