I'm a swashbuckler with proficiency in Scimitar, but im only in chapter one, and I want to know if I can get a good scimitar anywhere?
Like, what quest would you reccomend to get a good one early on? |

The earliest would be Trademeet...there is one in the tower (Druid Grove), and you get another for helping the Djinni's out.

Yup.. That's as early as I can recall too! The names for those scimitars are actually Belm, and Rashad's Talon. Be sure to catch 'em!

Belm is by far the best. It is actually one of the low-level weapons that gets used in the later stages of ToB.
While it just strikes as +2 scimitar it has the nifty power of granting you an extra attack per round. Now, the reason that people love this weapon is that this extra attack does not necessarily need to be done with Belm. You could be wielding Celestial Fury or some other big badass weapon in your primary hand with Belm in the off hand and get an extra attack with Celestial Fury. Rashad's Talon is just a +2 scimitar. It's main attractive point must be it's lovely purple colour.

I agree with Indemaijinj here in that Belm is a supreme weapon, especially for characters like the Swashbuckler who do not get additional APR with proficiency and level advancements. It allows the character to fully optimise his/her kit damage bonuses.

It should be noted (since it is not too widely known) that Kundane (a +2 short sword) does the same.

That's why I used Kundane and the Short sword of backstabbing through SoA with my thief. Both very good weapons when properly. The Arbane's Sword is decent as well..
