Ok, so this guy, he's the combination of the perfect qualities of every boxer.
He has the attitude of George Chuvalo, the power of A Prime Foreman, the speed of Ali, and the conditioning of Marciano. His name is.... Rocky Foreman. |

Watching people beat the crap outta each other is... well, barbaric. Sorry, just don't 'get it'.

There's a lot more to boxing than beating the crap out of each other. I think it's the hardest sport out there, and good fighters are great to watch. If you actually know the sport and can appreciate the techniques/matchups it's awesome. The matches with blood spilled get all the press, but most aren't like that.
It's too bad that as a sport it's so messed up. No real sanctioning body, thievery among promoters, and a lot of fighters who end up dirt poor and brain damaged after they're done. If it could be cleaned up (and I hope McCain can do it) it could be king again. No other sport provides the same individual competition and drama per event. |

-Gangrell, I do watch whenever I can on EPSN or TSN. I don't want to pay the 50+ USD for watching a 4 minute fight (Barrera-Fana?)
-Marathon, good summary. Boxing really is the hardest sport. The training and mental toughness needed to do well in the ring are second to none. As for the fight itself, some of my favourite fights are the brutal ones (young Tyson, Dempsey's fights, Lamotta, etc). I still greatly enjoy watching Sugar Ray, Ali V Frazier, however.
