That's because it wasn't finished. They left out whole bits of the story. There was quite a lot of content in the program itself that didn't make it in-game.

Remember not to blame Obsidian, but Lucasarts for that one.

I've quite a bit of insight on this one, since I worked on a revival project. The amount of things left out of the game is stupefying. Obsidian was good enough to throw it all on the CDs any way, for all the world to see the folly of LucasArts.
Here's some of the things that were cut:
Extra character depth, tons of dialogues(Atton becoming a Jedislayer once more, has an incredibly good dialogue with Mical before killing him: Mical: "I don't want to fight you" Atton: "Oh I don't care. I just want to kill you.")
Planet something-78, the forge of HK robots
Psycho Handmaiden(kills Visas in an equally awesome dialogue as Atton)
Several weapons(including the curved lightsabre that actually looks like a sabre)
Two combat stances, maybe more
T3-M4 flashbacks to KotOR 1
G0-T0 base, not just the ship
2 Jedi characters
Several explorable areas on various planets, and a whole lot of quests

And that's just a taste of what's missing. So let's all join in hating LucasArts together!

Raises high our torches and bellow the loudest as we storm the gates of LucasArts, and hope we can call them names before the security escorts us away......or we can just have oreos and milk.

That was the point I was trying to make. K2 was unfinished (horribly so), and I hope NWN2 isn't the same. I know they cut an awful lot from NWN2 - like rideable horses (I was hoping to see some of the mounted combat feats and whatnot. Paladin's special mount would have been a plus.) I hope they release more PrCs as well in expansions and boost the number of classes one can take.

Quick q for those who have the game - can any of the PrCs boost the warlock class at all? In the complete arcane (I think) it introduces the Warlock class and it gives rules for using PrCs for Warlocks.

And to think, I got this game on the Friday (when it came out officially on the Tuesday) and it is still sitting on my desk. Unplayed. Unusued. Unopened. Mainly because I found out way too late that my processor is still woefully inadequate. I just hope the other processor is, as I would be exceptionally aggravated if I STILL couldn't run it with my other chip I have here. *sighs* I need more hours in my day. Heck, I need a day off when I don't feel like absolute crap. That's what I need.

i voted wait.

it all depends on what you would buy the game for. If you only want to play the oc, and maybe some community made sp mods, then by all meens, its probably worth it. If all you do is play multi-player, build PWs and Admin on those pws, then as of yet it is not worth it. Patches may fix that, but as of right now. its not worth it.

Oh com'on guys, surely someone must know if you can use a PRC to boost the Warlock like you have with the mage classes

I don't know what a PRC is.

But on a warlock-related note, how does one activate the "Frightful Blow" invocation before engaging the enemy. When my warlcok is controlled by the computer, he can "power-up" at the first sign of enemies, and then run to engage them. However, when I use the invocation, he runs up to the guy, and then powers up, provoking an attack of opportunity. Anyone know?

Prestige Class. And no, there's no specific prestige class to boost the warlock. They recommend you don't multiclass it (though it might be worth taking a few levels of fighter or rogue).
