Which XP Cap remover are you talking about? There's more than one.

if it is a ".2DA" file, then it goes in your overRide folder.

Normally all patches/third party installs go in your Override, that's why it's called an Override.

In the same boat as Buggerface. Maybe. Have downloaded the xpcap2da, to the over-ride file, unzipped it, but it still doesn't allow me over 2,950,000 points. Is something wrong here?

Don't bother trying to remove the XP cap, get ToB and you'll be able to get to some really high levels.

Copy your save games. Delete the game. Install the game. Put your savgames back in the save game folder. Use Shadowkeeper to edit your charecters back to normal.

"but it still doesn't allow me over 2,950,000 points"
Have you looked at the file? You can open a 2DA file with any standard text program. WordPad works fine. What are the values on the chart set to? Maybe the cap is set to 2.9 million, even in your downloaded version. Or maybe the person that created your file named it wrong. If that is the case, BG will ignore it, even if it is in the override folder. It must be called "XPcap.2da". Mine are set to -1. In TOB, they are set to 8000000. I am playing SOA, and crossed into the 3 million experience range just fine. Here is my 2DA file: 2DA V1.0 2950000 VALUE MAGE -1 FIGHTER -1 CLERIC -1 THIEF -1 BARD -1 PALADIN -1 DRUID -1 RANGER -1 FIGHTER_MAGE -1 FIGHTER_CLERIC -1 FIGHTER_THIEF -1 FIGHTER_MAGE_THIEF -1 MAGE_THIEF -1 CLERIC_MAGE -1 CLERIC_THIEF -1 FIGHTER_DRUID -1 FIGHTER_MAGE_CLERIC -1 CLERIC_RANGER -1 MONK -1 SORCERER -1 |
