Chapter 7 - multiple questions - minor spoiler

Ok Im near a figth with the dragon in the elven city, any advice in how to take this guy down? he seems too strong for me, until now I had managed to get him "Injured" but no more than that. I also have all the pieces of the Crom Fayer except the Gridle... I had searched all the underdark for the demon who is suposed to have it, but no trace of him. thx.

Go to the Kuo-Tuo Dungeon in the Underdark, and fight the Demon Knights.

This thread tells you how to summon them.

You don't need Crom Feyer(sp?) to defeat that dragon.
He is not as tough as Fircraag!
Here is just one of many ways to kill him:
Summon some help (skeleton warriors and stuff like this)
cast on your party haste,defensive harmony,prot from evil,chant,ect
Send the first wave of summoed creatures to him followed by your tanks keep your mages breaching his protections lowering resistance and hitting him with spells.Works for me anytime!

Summon weak creatures first, then send them in 1 by 1. These weaker creatures should make him use jis spells on them. Then summon stronger creatures and attack then! The monsters like the Pit Fiend and stuff should distract him whist you kick his rs. No prob. If it doesn't work first time, then try, try again.

i think i killed him by using a mix of power word stun and silence firsat and then throw every spell i had at him (insect swarms, lightning, etc.) eventually he died.

Call Lightning, Doom, Insect Plague, Greater Malison, then as many Chromatic Orbs as you can cast --- put them in spell triggers, major & minor spell sequencers, chain contingencies (if you've got them), and every level 1 spell slot you've got.

He'll fail a saving throw sooner or later
