Okay I get the picture, name the topic first. Here's a question for you. What was the first anime series that you saw, and did you like it or not?

I don't tell other non anime watchers this, but mine was Sailor Moon. Yeah embarrasing I know. Of course after that came DBZ! Still I did like Sailore Moon for awhile...

Brilliant show, and I had to buy all the episodes mind you, since they don't show it on TV, which I'm under the impression they do in USA..
And I also watched Kenshin at the same time..that one's also terrific

Psha! Baby stuph. You want REAL Anime, watch "Castle of Cagliostro", "Lensman", "Fist of the North Star", or the all-time best one, "Akira". WARNING: some of these are rather adult-oriented (not porn, but definitely not Pokemon); there's some extreme graphic violence in Akira and some of the others as well. Outstanding work on each one, though.

Cheers,
-Saz

Saz, Akira doesn't sound *that* adult oriented. My friend has it and is always trying to get me to watch it. He's convinced it's the best anime movie ever created. Was it really that good?

Oh and i've seen seen ghost in the shell too. That was good. (And wierd.)

The first anime T.V series that I ever saw was Guiver, you know with the shape-shifting baddies and people shout 'Meta-morph-force' or some thing, wasn't that bad really. After that came the orginal Tenchi Muyo and it's been nearly all good from there.

Oh and what's wrong with Sailormoon, dang fine series dat is.

Redblueflare, Akira is hands-down the *best* Anime movie ever made. It's pretty grim, though. Word of advice: don't try to understand everything at the beginning. It all makes sense as the movie progresses. Definitely watch it!

My wife and I saw Princess Mononuke over the weekend, and liked it quite a bit. Great animation, intriguing storyline. Only the very pat ending was a letdown.

Ah, I have to agree, Akira is one of the best Anime films out there, I've also seen Ghost in the Shell, that wasn't as good though.
However, Akira isn't the best I've ever seen...
I remember this one Anime movie I haven't seen for years, but I always remember how great it is.
Does anyone know the film I'm on about, the main character has to destroy these 7 demons, and it involved a woman who had poison (which she was immune to) flowing through her blood stream and a small japanese dude with a funny hat.
Anyone?

Ninja Scroll is the name your lokking for, definity not for kids.
Akira IMHO is so not the best anime out there, I found it a major snore fest all eight time I've seen it.

Oh i've seen Tenchi Muyo too. Well some of it at least. People tend to laugh at me if I tell them i've watched sailor moon because i'm a guy. Okay enough about that! Hey who is that girl in your sig she looks familiar.

Saz I think i'll watch akira, and probably Princess Mononuke too. My friend was telling me about that. Instead though i'll just start the Laine series tommorow. (I've already asked him for it.) So much to watch so little time!

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion I just don't have to listen.
