The mosquitos carry all kinds of germs and disease. When they stick there snout in your body to drink your blood it becomes infected. As a side note only the females will bite. The big a** mosquitos are generally males and won't bite. I lived in AB for a while and i can't say as I miss mosquito season at all.

It has something to do with what sort of blood you have. Some people are rarely bothered by them and others are being feasted upon. I know if one of them little assholes sucks something out of me, he'll be drunk instantly

It is true that only female mosquitos bite to suck blood, because they require a blood meal to feed their unborn children. Both male and female mosquitos generally live off of plant nectar.
When she bites, her saliva contains proteins that prevents the blood from colagulating...closing the wound. It also causes the irritation and small lump.

Could be, could be...
All I know is that I get less bugbites if I've had much garlic lately, or taken garlic oil capsules the night before (or is it that citronella perfume??? Hmmmm...).

Less vampires around lately too.

You don't need insect repellant, you need ME!
I am the ultimate in anti-moggie devices, if I'm in the same room as you, they won't bother you. Yeah sure, I'll be crawling with them and wake up with my skin looking like bubble-wrap, but what the heck!

I don't know why, but the little feckers just love me. I must taste good.
