Due to the weather this years vintage promises to be excellent. If this holds true we could have some excellent wine coming up (European at least). It's been a while since we had a great vintage.

Michigan also makes some great wines! I'm a little different, I seem to have a taste for cherry wine. Very tart, and very strong. Mmmmmmmmmmm! Outside of that, I like a good Riesling for general dinner wine. White Zinfandel is OK, but a bit overrated and overdrank, in my opinion. Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio are OK, but a bit dry in my opinion. Toad Hollow is a good one. Merlot goes great with roast beef or chicken, but that's about all it's good for.

Oh and johnny,
Chili has been making some great wines the last few years. What Euro vintages do you recommend for this? What to keep my eyes open for them. If you like real (ie red) zinafindal look for a California winery called Ravenswood. They make some kickin Zins
