OK I'm stuck. My boat is docked, I've meet Talrik and excepted his quest (Longtooth hide). But now I can't undock my boat. I've clicked on the wheel but the boat doesn't move. What do I do? Thanks.

Welcome to the board, Dorasacha!

You've found the sticky spot, that one spot where you can beach your boat, just like Talrik.

The answer to getting out is in the Best Tips thread, but to summarize and save you a little time, you have (IIRC) two options:

1. Reload previous save game and try again (being careful not to go to that spot in your boat again)

2. While on the boat, cast Vanish. The boat will vanish with you.

For reference, when it happened to me, I didn't know about the Vanish trick, so I don't actually know how well it works. I do know that Vanish is frustrating for me in general...

The other solution is go swimming in the wide blue yonder - cast creat portal. Go back and select ship - cast teleport. Boats look great in odd places like say on top of skull castle .

Thanks for the add-on, Davros. I'm much more comfortable with Teleporting than with Vanish.
