I particularly enjoyed Meg Lees's admission that there was too much democracy in the Democrats. This at a time when the Prime Minister is waging war on anybody in his party who professes a belief in traditional liberal values, such as care for human rights, and as Simon Crean wages war within Labor, due to the involvement of too many unionists. So let's get this straight: according to the participants, we now have too much democracy in the Democrats, too much labour in Labor, and too many liberals in the Liberals. Thank God for the Greens, who at least are true to their name, even if they confuse matters by electing a leader called Brown. The Nationals, of course, have always represented a sectional interest, despite the grand name.

We have John Howard.
You ask what can be worse than Bush; I say someone who worships him. Last I heard, John Howard devoted a temple to Bush.

It's often a good read, just remember it's only one arm of opinion. For an alternative view I'd also try http://www.crikey.com.au
Well worth a look. You have to $ub$cribe to get all the good stuff, but the free stuff is great.
