quote: It depends what you like. If you like short stories, the Hobbit is definately better. How ever, if you prefer long indepth stories that tells you everything and more, LOTR is by far the best! Notheless, both novels are amazing work of art!

Well I also just finished reading the Hobbit and I was sorely disappointed. Sorry, I thought the characters were shallow and 2 dimensional, the descriptions were not nearly detailed enough and the main character was unsympathetic, I also felt no emotion when the dwarf died. (whichever one he was, with the silver trim (cause you know all dwarves look the same but wear different colors)) The story itself was good and the monster creativity was cool, I really enjoyed the eagles and Beorn. But overall i would say not a book I would recommend.
