With the unfortunate problem that by the end of the main module, you'll have a character almost at lvl 20, so any new modules you play will be with either a new character or a stagnant one.

The D&D rules work well for PnP because it takes so long for a single adventure (heck one battle can take an entire afternoon) that going to lvl 20 is years of fun. A CRPG speeds everything up though, so if you use the same rules as PnP it now only takes a few days to get to lvl 20. You can't realy get into the role of a character in 3 days.

other people except you? practice make perfect, if there are some flows in the module try telling them what's wrong.

well I doubt any1 would play if it tooks years to level up your character, certainly not nearly the amount that does play. As for the cap I'm sure there must be a way of disabling it like in bg2
