I've noticed that, LadyZ...either song 2 or 3 is going to be the hit...song 1 is usually some piece of crap that they stuck on. Makes you wonder why, though? It used to be completely different on LP's.

Yeah, seems like mostly nowadays when I buy a CD, at least 70% of them have only one or two songs that are worth listening to on them. You buy the thing cause you hear this really great song, and expect to buy the CD and get more of the same, but instead you get total crap. And yes, they seem to stick their few good songs somewhere in the middle of the CD, cause they know if they put it on No. 1, you won't listen to their other shite music LOL.

I hate how artists have only one or two good songs, and *nothing* else. On the radio, all you hear is one or two songs from a certain person or band, nothing more, none of their other songs...

That's commercial music for you!!! Basically, a band puts out a song and it becomes an instant hit. To make the most money, they have to put out an album as quickly as possible. Hence the 1 or 2 good tracks on a crap album.

Indeed.
That's why I'm pretty picky in my choice for which CD's to buy or not nowadays... I don't buy as many CD's as I used to do a couple of years ago, but practically any album I buy is a winner. To me personally anyways.
*Sees the following 7 cd's in his 7cd-exchanger right now... Einstürzende Neubauten's Silence is Sexy, The Notwist's Neon Golden, Pavement's Crooked Rain Crooked Rain, Pinback's Blue Screen Life, Motorpsycho's Phanerothyme, Seafood's Surviving the Quiet and CD1 of GYBE!'s Levez vos skinny fists comme Antennas to Heaven, the last one not even having a third song on the CD *
