Anyone got a link to the current health bill as it stands TODAY? There's so many floating around, at least 3 on the white house site. Please, no political links, just the bill.

Around here Convenience stores have also started using no-fee ATM's, which, after watching average ATM fees go from $1.50-$2.50 to $3.50+ in the wake of bank failures last year, is quite a relief. (As I said, average fees. In tourist areas, airports, amusement parks, etc. $5-6 isn't uncommon)

be mandatory" but I can tell by your responses you really wanted it to say that. In fact I suspect you were looking for any opening to make any contentious point so you could rant about socialism and make personal attacks about being on a soapbox. History repeats itself again.

We are going to essentially pay a tax to a private industry for a public service. No reduction of beauracracy that I can find. I too would love to see decent comprehensive cliff notes of the bill, minus politcal rhetoric. I'm sure there is more astonishing stuff to find.

Re: Single-payer health care plan dies in Senate
Oh, I'm sure everyone posting here is aware, but the bill isn't dead by any means, Ben Nelson was bought off(restrictions on physician owned hospitals was lifted for Nebraska and the Federal Gov't will fully fund MedicAid in that state - the Abortion language he was opposed to was left in) and in a late night vote last night/this morning another procedural vote was passed, 60 votes, at 1AM. 2 more votes IIRC before it can go to the house/senate committee to resolve differences and it going up to the Prez.

You take personal offense when I disagree with you and claim I am deliberately looking for any reason to disagree with or attack you. That is not true. I don't disagree with you because I dislike you, I just don't agree with your particular POV on most subjects. I have a r/l friend that I disagree with as much, if not more, on politics and religion, yet we manage to remain good friends despite our personal differences. Sometimes we snipe at each other, but we both get over it. Your original post had an overly pious tone, implying that anyone who did not agree with universal healthcare also had no concept of mercy, compassion, charity or community. I apologize if I misinterpreted that, but if you go back and read it objectively, you do seem to be saying that people who have more but don't want to share with those who have less are just really bad people. My comment about you putting yourself on a pedestal was a reaction to that. And, even though I described universal healthcare as a socialistic concept (because it is), I also explained very clearly that socialism itself is not necessarily bad or good.

Simple tactic really Cerek, taking umbrage allows one to end discussion by derailing it into a "You're mean to me" hissy fit.
