Another twist to Lawyer Spells is that Charm is only half as effective, while Repel doubles in force.

It didn't leave a good feeling to slay the helpless Raskalian. It was none of my business. It was between him and Scanthril.

I think a better story line is to kill Scanthril and get the Assassin's blade that way. Scanthril is a member of the Black Hand which is justification enough. He also isn't defenseless, being constantly accompanied by his band of cutthroats. Perhaps he could be provoked into attacking, but he is pretty crafty. If nothing else, then a failed attempt to pick his pocket should do the trick. That would keep the lawyers at bay since it was in self defense after all.

I keep a silence spell ready in case I run into some one with the Double Speak trait!

hehehe
I was wondering who had dredged this thread out of the hinterlands!
I would have preferred that the game allowed us not to kill Raskalion in order to proceed in the assassin's quest but I guess it does fit the job description.

Wyv, you shouldn't kill him: with your disposition you're not fit to be an assassin anyway. (This advice is probably only for your third time around, because I hope for you you've made the decision by now, after 1.5 months.)

Though I regret seeing most of the December posts come up missing - I really have enjoyed the fact that some great old threads have come back to life!
First time through the game, I let Raskallion live. Second game, I did kill him but I really don't like doing that. It really isn't my nature! DO game designers ever take that into consideration?? How many players have ended up seeing a shrink: "I killed him and he was just a harmless old geezer" "You must remember, it is just a game!" "But it's symbolic, you can't just write it off because it was a game!" lol!!!

Quite a contrast to some of the players who have gone through the game killing every NPC they can aim a sword at!

what? you can't kill Raskallion?
unspeakable! you have no desire to be an assassin? you don't want worgurs cower at your feet? you don't want to sneer at the highlander thief's foolish words? you don't want to sneak around? you don't want do beat up people who laughed at your funny outfit?

tsk tsk... you might as well be a paladin....
