Here's the opening sentence from Shiney's column in today's Times:

"My third and final World Cup begins for Australia today and I am desperate to make an impression"

Well he certainly achieved that!

Davros, I forwarded your description of cricket to some mates of mine. They all seemed rather amused, although they also said some very uncharitable things about Australians, convicts, and fat bastard spin bowlers who need to take weightloss tablets..

I suppose you can't win them all!

LOL - I hope they liked that one about how England can play darts then - as for Warnie - you guys have been in "fat bastard" envy for years now - ever since "THE GATTING BALL"

Of course what we need to know now is was he taking banned substances when he bowled Gatting?

Of course what we need to know now is was he taking banned substances when he bowled Gatting?
Nice try my friend - for your information, The ACB introduced routine drug testing for cricketers in 1998, and Warnie has been tested hundred's of times since then. Have you heard of any positive results in all those years?

I know you want me to squirm about this - and it is indeed annoying to lose the world's best bowler on the very eve of the World Cup. Local sources suggest that we will see Shane back playing before the end of the tournament - there willbe a local hearing on Thursday, the results of which will be presented to the ICC. Let's see what the investigators make of it all.

PS : Good luck in your first game - who are you playing?
