Cyber7, I believe it is worthwhile playing the game all the way through with the same character at least once. Having Imoen, Jaheira and Minsc from near the beginning of BG1, through TotSC, then through BG2 and ToB is also a fantastic experience.
BG1 is difficult to play after spending a lot of time in BG2, but with enough time and effort, is very satisfying. |

I'd say its definitely worth playing. I haven't gone back to it since doing bg2, but the thought has crossed my mind. Let us know how it turns out

In general, my reactions to BG1 were mixed. Compared to BG2:
1) Far less party NPC interaction 2) What party interaction existed, was repetitive and unimaginative 3) Lots and lots of FedX quests ("Get me the Bgr of EEEargh.") 4) No direct movement to distant areas. You walk every step. Boooooring after the first time, because there nothing to do. 5) Very poor movement algorithms. 6) Superior game balance (far less high end spells and items) 7) Poor tracking of quests. 8) No auto-notations on maps. Really tough when you got into the main city. 9) Predictable, static main plot. 10) Few large, complex quests. 11) Very few puzzles. 12) Same basic graphics, combat system and interface. If you enjoyed BG2, I'd suggest Planescape: Torment. Excellent CRPG, and now selling for around $10 in many places. |

Um I find it fun to play all the way from BGI till Tob
Spolier as for walking everywhere that is not correct. Once an area is on your map you can alwass go directly there. To get an area on you rmap ou just have to leave a area next to it and even if ou do not go to that new area it will be on your map.
