That is too weird - who needs drugs anyway. Lack of sleep and powered by caffeine alone I have come close to hallucinating!

I work out and keep fat out of my diet as much as possible. One thing that amazes me is that if you have a good base in culinary knowledge, you can make anything taste good. I love how clean vegetarian food leaves you feeling!

And you really get used to not eating meat very quickly. Just the smell of it now is rancid to me, it would seem 'unclean' almost to eat it, like polluting yourself. I know that sounds a bit odd, I can't explain it really!

I'm veggie now, have been for a few years, and I have enjoyed adapting some of my favorite recipes and trying new ones. Some people say that you're limiting your range of experience being veggie, but it is also a good challenge - still plenty of great ingredients and dishes to try! Indian dishes are some of my favorite, Turkish and Greek too. Anyone tried Baklava or Konafi? Turkish sweets are heavenly! Full of honey and nuts and flavored with rose water.

And as for tea! Being English, I am very used to drinking Indian or Sri Lankan black tea with milk (practically raised on the stuff!) which is not to everyone's taste, but I enjoy it. I also enjoy any tea without milk.

I would recommend Lapsang Soushong (sp?) if you have never tried it. A very distinctive taste - drink it black, unsweetened. My personal favorite black tea is Assam - I find Darjeeling a bit mild.
Green tea is great, especially with some fresh mint leaves added to the pot, with a little sugar or honey.
Herbal teas too! (there really is no tea I won't try). Chamomile is one of my favorites, although it is an 'acquired taste' - very strange until you get used to it, but it is very relaxing. Lime Blossom tea is good for controlling blood pressure and tastes very nice.

Oh great, just as I'm hitting the hay you start talking Yes, herbal teas are nice. I'll read you tomorrow Epona

I still eat meat. I love Bacon for example! However I've cut down on the amount and regularity I eat. We don't need it every night.

I can understand that. Unfortunately there are certain amino acids that you can only get from red meat. I'm down to only twice a week with it though.

It's important to have a balanced diet whatever you eat, and it sounds as though you know what you're talking about. Veggies do have to be careful in that respect, and although I had some health problems earlier in the year (turned out to be stress and exhaustion) I now have never felt better. I get ill a lot less, I am more alert, etc. It's not for everybody though. I have never tried to 'convert' anyone, and never will, it's very much a personal choice.

I respect anyone's choice of diet. I like food, so I will find SOMETHING I like no matter what!

When I've woken up a bit, I'll post some recipes I like! We had a recipe thread before, but I wasn't able to post much while that topic was running so I never added to it. I'm starting to feel hungry now...
