i just got my apprenti. first you must beat the sphear. then come back a few days later and a mage will appear and talk to you. you can get him to help you with the knights that are traped in the sphear. then a few days after that go back to the sphear and he will give you some apprenticis

Now, all should be listed in the webpage bulletsponge gave you, but just remember that you have to be a Mage to get them, as they are a part of the Mage-stronghold.

And be sure not to fight the Cowled Wizards on the street until AFTER you beat the stronghold and finish your sessionh with the apprenti!
