yorick, i did play cause of my mother kinda pushin me into it.. i enjoyed it for the most part, but i really thought i wasnt good enough.. i had hard times memorizing music and it got frustrated to see other pianists do better than me.. i wish i had kept up on it, but like most my age i wanted to finally stop and relax.. i do regret it cuz it did relax me, even if it was a chore to do so.. im 34 now and i do regret lots of things in my life... i think we kinda all do at some point...

It's not to late to get back into it. It's like riding a bike. All the stuff you learned is still there. A little bit of practice and it'd start coming back. You needn't be a concert pianist or in a band either, but that's no reason not to play piano. That's the beauty of music. It serves a purpose for you even if you are the only one who benefits from your playing. I certainly wouldn't let your age deter you from picking it up again. Better than having regrets at 64 about how you didn't start playing relaxing improvisations when you were 34. |

yorick, i kinda lost my desire over time away from it.. i dont have enough money to buy a piano.. i was being trained to be a classic pianist, but money plays a big part in ones education.. maybe when i have my own family ill pick it up again and give my kids a choice...

Weighted keyboards can be an option of course. But whatever you do don't regret mate. If regret leads to change it's great, but if it only drags you down it's no good, yes? I'm glad your kids will have the choice. Peace Arion. |
