My company announced that there would be a large number of layoffs by the end of March, so everyone's been nervous for the last 2 weeks. This afternoon my manager called and told me that I'm officially still employed. Whew! That's something worth celebrating.

Reasons for celebrating.
1. I'm married to Galadria, yay! 2. I woke up this morning and realized that I didn't get called last night, once. 3. Page Will slept ALL NIGHT in his own bed, double yay. 4. This afternoon, we're installing the new computer at the office, so Piestrider will have his own and stop hogging this one. 5. It's not winter any more 6. I like all of my office crew. 7. Neverwinter Nights will be out soon 8. No terrorism in the USA, lately (knoock on wood) 9. We're getting a NEW SERVER at Ironworks, so Galadria will stop being in a bad mood when she can't get on. Triple yay

Thanks for the welcome Galadria--this is a fun forum!
Our company's fiscal year ends this week and they're looking for ways to cut losses, so presto! Big workforce cuts. Unfortunately a number of coworkers found out Wednesday that their last day was today. I have more reasons for thankfulness than I could ever list (and it's an especially celebratory time of year for us Christians), but when your job's in question, other things kind of pale. Yeah, I wanted my nick to be J.t.Qbe (from my Ultima III days: J.(first name) t(he) Qbe) but it ended up like this. I may just sign up again as Qbe. J. |
