Not surprising. Except for HOMM series, most of their latest games did not sell well. However, I was hoping that bigger companies would acquire 3DO and continue the legacy of HOMM.

True, though I have to say HOMM4 wasn't really spectacularly different from HOMM3. I've played the latter to death, but HOMM4 somehow ended up in a dusty corner in my room, haven't played the game in many, many months. Couldn't even be bothered to buy and play the expansion.

Yes there was something about 4 that made it be ignored even by big fans of the series.
I ended up not finishing it as well.

to be honest, the M&M and HM&M series have been dead for quite a while.. Heroes 3 was great, I bought 4 but it just blows, and the last couple of M&M titles have sucked wind too....I think most of the real talent at the company had been let go a long time ago it is sad..Ive played all of the Might and Magic games ...up to 8, 9 was bad enough that I just gave up. *sniff* MM1 was my very first CRPG... and I still replay MM6 through 8 fairly frequently.
Two thoughts come to mind... one, that Chapter 11 does not always mean the end, although the discussions don't seem to lead toward reorganization, and two, perhaps JVC can buy the MM name back and bring something else out into the mix... I raise a glass to the apparent parting of a very good friend With fondness, *B* [ 05-29-2003, 11:09 AM: Message edited by: Bungleau ] |
