I tried writing the codes into my signature, and it would not work, until I chose the edit option, then closed out(although I did not edit anything), and the html color would show up. But only after I closed out of the edit option. I had a big long talk with everyone about it, and finally decided to give up. It was getting to be too much of a hassle to care about.

Sorry Lavindathar, but html isnt allowed in sigs, but its not that we dont allow it, its that it doesnt work there . Even if you wrote it, it wouldnt work, so i guess there is nothing to do about it.
You could get an image with the text you wanna see, some people has it like that (for example Flojtsdale. BTW, nice pic you have now !! ------------------ "TEEHEE !!!!" -The Mighty CloudQueen, to Ertai |

hmm can u tell me exactly why u cannot use html in sigs ?? u can use it in posts but not in sigs .. that's a bit ironical ...
cous I have a flash sig and that is not just [img][/img] eh.. I use this code : <EMBED src="http://members.digitalrice.com/boran/signature.swf" loop=true menu=false quality=best wmode=opaque bgcolor=#FFFFFF WIDTH=500 HEIGHT=100 EMBED> which gives my sig : (I now just manually copy/paste my sig after every post) |

Also, embedded flash animations, sound files and other similar things are not allowed, because they can significantly slow down loading of the page for people with dial-ups as well as take up a lot of space. Hope you understand, mate. ------------------ |

well it's only 106 kb in size (will probably increase whenever I add my "Easter EGG in it
The same image as animated gif is 264 kb in size .. so flash is smaller, faster, and more functional ... I think I could even reduce it to less than 50 kb (If I reduce the Jpeg image quality cous right now it's set at 100 % (near lossles jpeg compression ..) then it would be "only" twice the size of your sig (just downloaded it to check its size) I understand that u want to make the forums accessible for everyone, even slow modem users (I was one myself once, but that is a long time ago ..) |

Okay right now my sig is 31.2 kb (I found out that Flash didnt re-compress the Background images because they where PNG format -Doh)
I also optimised the spotlight a bit .. cous it gave a lil' laggy tick in the middle of its run ... Expect more improvements later (whenever I figure a way to let buttons stand still in a seperate movie-scene that doesnt interfere with the main loop (if anyone knows some flash here and could help me, help is always welcome ..) PS : al my older posted sigs are now also only 32kb cous I changed the file on my sig-host, uless its cashed in yer browser offcourse ... |
