Celerons are also useful for laptops, they are cheaper and smaller. i would advise the use only for a machine that will do Very mild tasks ie collect email, write stuff in word. you dont want one even if you only play music, trust me on this one.

Pentium for my home and nothing else.

My computer is a Celeron P2-333 with 320 megs of ram and a Vodoo 3 3000 16 megs video card, my sound card is a crappy sound blaster 16 card, and I can play LOTS of games with it, even games for which I don't meet the requirement.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Age of Mythology, Icewind Dale II... And I don't play them with everything down either, I always use the best resolution, and I always have Norton Antivirus, Zone Alarm, Msn messenger, Icq and more running at the same time, too.

So Celeron are not that bad, if I was on a small budget I wouldn't mind buying another one again.
