If you look carefully your main character constantly switches his weapon from left hand to right hand. When you walk towards the east your weapon is in your left hand. When you walk towards the west your weapon is in your right hand. It looks really stupid.

yeah I saw that too. Until you notice it , it looks fine , but now it just looks dumb.

I think that's the sprite mirroring in action to reduce the number of frames drawn. Improves performance, but can be disabled in the config menu.
