Default feature request and more

Thanks to manikus, I checked out this site
http://www.icestorm9999.com/1.html
and since I had not yet played the goldbox game Gateway to the savage frontier, I saw the demo video for the first time.
In that video, the giant squid/giant octopus has a constrict attack that renders your PCs unable to move and does extra damage.

Now to the request part:
I want to add to the ever growing list of feature requests a script that you can use in a spell that does additional damage without poisoning the PC that is hit. The script should look something lilke this:

$ADDITIONAL_DAM ($TargetIndex, OriginIndex,X,Y)

$ADDITIONAL_DAM : name it anything you want, don't matter
$TargetIndex this is the index of the recipient of the damage
$Originindex would be the index of the creature that does the additional damage to the target
X would be a Numeric or variable amount
Y would be number of rounds damage is incurred, with -1 being until killed or creature (with $OriginIndex) is dead

FRUA had the Shambling mound attack, which like the squid attack would do additional damage and would immobilize the PC, but the shambling mounds could then attack the character from behind. In fact, the shambling mound attack would have been very dramatic effect if the monster had thief backstab ability.

We already can "immobilize" characters by giving them a zero movement rate. But we cannot display any message on the combat screen when the character has an effect. So, on to my next scripting request:

$COMBAT_MSG(targetindex, text displayed)
$COMBAT_MSG : again, name does not matter
Targetindex = index of creature/player that the message should display on
Text displayed = a message that shows up when creature/player begins combat turn and stays on until the end of that players combat turn UNLESS A NEW MESSAGE IS MADE (which would replace the old).

I do understand if nobody is really working on the scripting side of DC, after all Paul and CocoaSpud were doing it together. I have found some free tutorials on C++ and I hope to be able to contribute something to this soon.

ST

Default Re: feature request and more

The squid/octopus attack is much like the umber hulk hug (exactly the same except for a different creature). Since this is something on the request list already, we will have it by version 1.0.
