Hi all, it's been a few months since my last post. Managed to tear myself away from IWD for a while.
Question: Are there any known issues with IWD/HOW/TotLM running on a Win 2000 platform? I had heard of some Black Isle games (like BG) having trouble running in Win 2000. Any Insights?

Also, I had to reinstall IWD recently. IWD ran fine, but after installing HOW and TotLM, i noticed a nasty problem with crashing. I run Multiplayer sessions alone (yeah, playing with myself) and found crashes during caracter creation when selecting voices. Also had a few crashes/freezes during the beginning of the game; but i determined those to be due to the imported characters i had created in the basic, non-patched IWD.
I'm running Win 98, 1st edition. 550 AMD, ~390MB Ram, 4mb video. Incidently, i have always noticed a less than desireable performance with the spells (lags) and have noticed such lags in other apps (grossly unacceptable in some cases). It's been suggested that i need to upgrade a Codec or something. I'm pretty certain it's a software issue, not hardware- thus my interest in Win 2000. Any insights would be appreciated.

I'm running Windows2000 and have been for the past 2 years. I have played both Icewind Dale and the Baldur's Gate saga on it without any problems what-so-ever. I've always made sure to get any updates from Microsoft as well as installing any patch for each game series and everyting runs fine one my computer (Athlon 1.2GHz, 256MB RAM, with Full game install, #@MB video card). So my advice is to go for is because Windows2000 is a WAY more stable O/S than Windows98. Good luck.
