1.this is not so important reason, but a reason anyway: I can buy gifts to my family anf foreign friends, and make them happy!!!!
2.gingerbreadcookies!!!!!!!
Err... actually three reasons!
3.wrapping gifts beautiful paper!!! Nothing is better in x-mas than wrapping gifts, and some more gifts..and more and more gifts...all wrapped in paper!!! I love wrapping christmas gifts!!!

The heat; going to the beach; the smell of mangos on Christmas morning; the boxing day cricket test + Christmas cricket in the backyard with the family; I've recently (last couple of years), discovered champagne with mango slices or cherries is quite an alluring breakfast too;

Most of all I think about what Jesus Christ's birth means to me.

Most important for me at Christmas is spending some quality time with my family. It's pretty much just me and my parents, but we get together with extended family when the 'big' holidays roll around.

Unfortunately, I won't get as much time this year as I'd like.
Seems Blockbuster Video doesn't believe in Christmas...or family for that matter...*sigh*

But I will be thankful for every precious moment I get with my family.

I also enjoy the presents, but I prefer to be giving them rather than receiving them. It's so much fun to see someone's face light up when you've chosen a really good gift.

I really don't do much at Christmas. I'm not Christian, so personally it doesn't have a lot of meaning for me other than endless appeals on TV for me to spend vast sums of money on things I/friends/family don't need. And an excuse to eat lots of food.

The best Christmas I ever had was the one I spent in Egypt with friends. Spent Christmas day in the hot sun looking at the Pyramids, there were no other tourists about because this was 1994, during the terrorist attacks on tourists (sadly people were shot while we were there).
We had a fantastic time, none of us were really into Christmas so took the opportunity to go to a largely Muslim country to escape the madness back home.

This year I will probably spend some time with my parents and brother - they are Pagan so celebrate Yule rather than Christmas, which involves feasting and exchanging gifts (sound familiar?) - takes place just before Christmas. My ex (who is also now my best mate) is planning to have a dinner party at some point for all his mates who have nothing better to do over Christmas period, many of his friends are single, parentless, or living a long way from family, so it is nice of him to think of having a get together, it is often a time people get lonely. I will also see my bloke at some point.

I am not an christian either (anymore).
But I still love X-mas,but my love towards it has really nothing to do with religion (my family isnt actually very religious).
Whatkind of fest is that Yule? Sounds interesting.

Ah, Christmas. I am Christian, so I cannot go the entire, "Bah! Humbug" route, since it is indeed the second greatest holiday in the Calendar, but I will confess that I loathe all of the commercial to-do and money spending. That said, we do have a four-year old in the house, and this is the first year that he really understands what Christmas is. I fully intend to enjoy that part of it. I have already stocked the Advent calendar with goodies.

I love the holidays, as well, despite the rampant commercialism during this time. I somehow manage to give that a miss and concentrate on the important things...like being with the ones you love, decorating (love those lights!), and spreading good cheer to others.

I must admit I'm a bit disconcerted when I start hearing the radio playing Christmas carols the week before Thanksgiving, though. Fun is fun, but there is a limit to just about everything.

Cheers,
-Sazerac
