I think my capability here, though, is strictly as a "back-up" when needed. As Ertai said earlier, this gives us round-the-click support.

ERGGGG...that's "round-the-CLOCK" support....jheez, I can't type today!!

Ziroc - rarely do I check here and I would have missed this completely had I not noted that someone was replying to this thread when I was checking who's online!

If you need me to check here - let me know.

Hi Cloudy,

I am back from my "Day in the Big Apple" - the weather was great, got a few blisters from too much walking, and jeesh, talk about a police presence!!!! I was there two nights, we got pulled up in a police checkpoint at 2 am - the guys in front got cuffed and stuffed, and their car pulled apart - we got asked "Hmm, we got some Aussies. Do you guys rassle any crocodiles?". To which the glib reply crosses ones mind, and then gets savagely suppressed given what happened to the last car occupants.

The next day I am walking down 6th avenue, and this car takes comes round the corner travelling the wrong way (or the right way if you drive in OZ) - it swerves into the sidewalk and disgorges four policemen who then scream at two guys to DROP IT, DROP IT. I was a tad worried that I was gunna be a wee bit too close to a shootout for a minute. Despite these new experiences, I had a great time on my all too brief visit.

Thanks for providing some good weather Cloudy.

Er...gee, why didn't you borrow my AK47 and other fine line of assault weapons?

So exactly how much did you really see and do?!
