Strange things in Icewind Dale

The king of the Winter wolves!

A strange thing happened to me while fighting winter wolves in the NW section of the Gloomfrost. After killing the three wolves I used stealth on my Ranger just to be sure there were none left. There was one left right at the back I hit him with an arrow to get him to follow but he seemed stuck so I went up were he was and he hit me with his cold blast. The thing than ran across the side of the mountain were you cannot even walk and disappeared (It probaly should have fallen off on that steep sloop). Very strange!

I've also had a disappearing chraracter. Yxonomei (excuse the spelling) the queen of snakes in chapter six talked to me and then disappeared before I could try combat - absolutely nowhere to be found and from a room where I blocked the only doorway........
Onviously she was completely intimidated by my party and ran away [img]smile.gif[/img]

Witch King, it's okay, I've played past it and I know what you mean, it's just that she disappeared AFTER I'd talked and challenged her to combat-not just the disappearing before (hope that makes sense, but don't want to spoil it too much for anyone else....).

Although in my case, some people on the forum helped me to track her down.

Another strange thing that's happened - how come my fighter Fearless can fight all different kinds of species with the odds against the team, but can't seem to get out from behind a table at the moment?!?!? I'll probably just load again.........

I had something really weird happen to me last night. I was in the last cave before you the Vale and had just beaten the three monsters in the beginning. I moved my druid up to where he could see just a little past the opposite end of the bridge. I had him cast entangle, then took my ranger (who has a ring of free movement) and walked across to trigger the skeletons to attack. Anyway, I had all but 2 killed when one of them walked between the statue & the bridge and was floating over the hole. I don't know where he was going, but I killed him and was unable to retrieve his weapon that he dropped. I think it might had something to do w/ me casting the spell, b/c it's an area effect spell and there were vines reaching up in the hole (off the bridge).

I've seen walking through walls before but not floating skeletons....
I wouldn't worry too much about the weapon- those skeletons didn't carry anything particularly good. It was probably either due to a bug or if you want a more 'in character' answer, I'd say he was being a miser and dropped it in some inaccessible place on purpose [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Today I pulled a dead cat out of the bag of holding. It looks just like the one in BG under the waterfall. I don't think I can sell it. If anyone has done this did they ever find a use for it?

I've pulled that darn dead cat out of my bag twice. I just left it, maybe it'll attrack some orges that I can kill for extra xp.
