Anyone out there know of a C++ programming/coding utility that is cheap (preferably freeware/shareware)?? I mean, I know you get what you pay for (sometimes), but I thought someone out there made up one and said "buck the system" since the system only wants yer hard earned bucks...

If y'all know about one, then please gimme the link.

Thanx
SilentThief

The Dev-C++ IDE is one of the best Open source C++ IDEs I have seen. And the latest version even has the ability to import the DC MS VC++ 6 code used to create DungeonCraft.

Sadly, you cannot use it to compile DungeonCraft. DungeonCraft uses the MFC libraries at it's core, and the MFC libraries are a proprietary, Microsoft Visual C++ only technology. Currently to compile DC you must have MS Visual C++ 6.0 or better. If you are a student, you can get it pretty cheap I think, but for the rest of us masses, it means at least a $100 purchase.

Weel, that STINKS, cuz thats exactly what I'm trying to do.

Oh, well, perhaps there's a way to get their library files without buying them (or not, we are dealing with Micro$$$$oft; after all).

Thanx anyway, I'll see if I can't come up with some kind of answer on this one. If I do, I'll let you know.

I wish you luck man. I looked into getting the libraries without having to purchase Visual C++, but came up dry.

If you do find a way to get them (legally), please let us know!

Good luck on your quest!
