Nice post, Hugh!

Nice topic too, Reeka. Personally I like blonde jokes and I'm not bothered by the stereotypes. I *know* I'm not stupid (well, most of the time ) so it doesn't make me insecure or upset if people draw conclusions about me based on my hair colour: if anything it tells me something about their own intelligence.
Hugh - I used to have my hair dyed black too: it *does* change the way you feel and the way you come across, you're right!
This reminds me of something else, BTW - what about the women who aren't natural blondes but dye their hair that colour? Would it be possible they have added to the stereotype as well? I mean, why do so many porn stars dye their hair blond, for instance? (not that I'm an expert on the subject, mind )

I think that actually there is often an even broader stereotype at work though. Isn't it so that "pretty" girls are often expected to be dumb, and "ugly" girls are thought to be smart, witty, intelligent? I'm using the terms ugly and pretty as relatively as possible; I have different ideas about what is pretty and what isn't than some people (a classically beautiful girl with a perpetual dissatisfied frown is a lot uglier to me than a girl who (thinks she) is overweight but has a sweet smile).
But whatever one considers beautiful, I think it's definitely true that if you wear make-up, like to pay attention to what you're wearing, have a pleasant appearance etc., you're often taken to be less intelligent than bespectacled girls, "mousy" girls, etc. Mind, that is not *my* opinion, people - just something I noticed.

The beauty and the intelligence aren't friends. The most woman who has got golden hairs are beauty for the men, and this is I think is the mean. But all kind of woman could be dumb or brilliant, blondes, redheads, or brunetts.
You just see the TV, stupids brunetts girls showing us their things in stupids shows , and politians and intelectuals blondes talking about nations, and real interesting things.

That is easy, Miss Reeka: redheads and brunetts are hot, so they are already taken care of as far as attributes go, while blondes only think they are hot.

Unfortunately, I heard the blonde gene will be extinct in about 200 years or so. Now, this could be fabricated rubbish, but I think its true, something about it being proven, I think. Anyways, does anyone know for sure? Cos I'm still a little unsure...

Uh...blonde is yellow, brunette is brown (or black, according to my friend) and a redneck...No, I'm not even gonna go there. BTW, what are people with multi-coloured hair? I have brown hair but completely natural *Grits teeth* white-blonde bits. I really, really, REALLY hate them. Damn things make me look so vain....
