I’ve Read “Animal Farm” AND “1984” !!!!!!!!

Both several times.
Animal Farm was very deep and meaningful,
So was 1984.
I was amazed to learn though, that apparently (I don't know about now) that ,after the Cultural Revolution was over and everyone had cleared up apparantly most any Chinese citizen could go and get 1984 out of a library,
Which I didn't expect seeing how totalitarian and bad the PRC is.

The only time I can recall correcting someone's spelling is one time when Epona said Karl Orff instead of Carl. And she's admitted to being a nitpick herself so I'm sure she doesn't mind.

Mate, if I really gave two shits about correct spelling, Ironworks would drive me completely and utterly nuts. Oh sure, I *notice* the countless mistakes, but I've got better things to do than worry about trivialities like actually correcting them. Don't hide behind my back if you want to go around pointing out minor spelling errors - I'm sure you'll do just fine aaaaall by yourself.

Edited to fix a couple of very minor spelling errors

Well it is always good to see someone else interested in the grammatical arts, but trust me on this - you are NOTHING like Melusine - I have met her in real life, and can attest to this .

Judging from your sig and your interests, I thought you would have read them, Dramnek.

I actually like many of Marx's ideas, I just don't agree with his total dismissal of religion as a means for the 'haves' to drug the 'have-nots' into a submissive state. Or his view of Nature as a mere quarry for human development instead of having value in its own right.

Glad the Cultural Revolution didn't destroy everything, BTW. And things are certainly much less totalitarian there now, from what I learnt.

Ah, but you haven't met me in real life, right?

But I agree -- no two people in the world can ever be exactly like each other. And fortunately so, too. After all, just one K T Ong is enough to make you all curse and swear (albeit behind my back), isn't it?

And to Melusine, I have to agree with you. If one wanted to really nitpick on every grammatical and spelling error here on these boards... there would be absolutely no end to it. And I've got better things to do, too! (Just had to correct the spelling for 'Gandhi', though -- he's one of my heroes.)

And just so that this thread won't wander off from its main topic:

Economic Left/Right: -5.38
Authoritarian/Libertarian: -0.31

Have to say I find the questions in the test a bit black-and-white; there's no option like 'It depends'. Instead, it's either 'agree' or 'disagree'.

And there ought to be a similar test to determine your alignment in the AD&D universe!

ohhh boy!!

Left/right Im a -1 and
Authoritarian/Libertarian Im a 0.31

errr I think this may be a bit off.

I also found the questions seemed to be worded in a very .... poor (is the only word I can think of) way... some were asking questions as if the premises were mutually exclusive or as if there were no room for a middle ground.
