Serious question.
I really need to be up and out tomorrow morning. ATM I've only got the alarm on my phone which doesn't wake me up. I had the fantastic thought of putting it on the windowsill on vibrate mode last night. Idea being it would vibrate off said window sill and fall on my head. The phone don't like heights it seems and vibrated itself as far away from me as it could. I never heard it anyway and then made myself even later looking for it. Don't usually put it on the window sill there....bad move.

Can I make this PC make a noise at a given time and if so..how please?

If it can do that, is there any chance it can knock up a cup of tea around the same time?..........Thought not..dang.

I bet you can find several freeware with this function. I looked up alarm clock on download .com and got 145 matches. Here's a popular one.

Edit: Or couldn't you schedule a task to wake you up? Play an annoying mp3 for instance? (start-->settings-->control panel-->scheduled tasks)

Is there one where you can play music to wake you up? I have had the same alarm wake me up for a year, so much where I think I hear it when it doesn't even go off

There were several which could play wavs and mp3s. But you should be able to do that through your task scheduler. Create a task and see if it works. Otherwise download a program that allows you to play a song at a certain time. The one I linked to above sounded promising though. It plays an annoying sound until you get out of bed and enter a code to turn it off. Search and see if you find something you like.

simpler than that .....

create say .... a play list that you want to wake you up (WinAmp, WMP, Real ...) then use the windows task scheduler to launch that play list at the desired time, this can be a one time or recurring task.

Test the play list before going to bed of course

EDIT: Damn Willow! Ya beat me to it!
