Okay, I'm thinking that this would be an excellent movie to theme-party-ize. Unfortunately, I can't remember many of the character's names.

Willow = Neutral Good Halfling Transmuter
Van Mossigen = Chaotic Good Human Swashbuckler: Long Swords, Two Weapon Style
Red-Haired Girl = Lawful Neutral Human Barbarian: Two-Handed Swords, Axes
Old Woman = Lawful Good Elven Cleric / Enchanter: Staves, Two-Handed Weapons

It's unfortunate that Halflings can't be magi... that's the one cheat needed to play this party.

HAH! Great idea.

But didn't Willow use a Short Sword at one point?

Also, ever watch Buffy The Vampire Slayer?

Buffy: Lawful Good Undead Slayer (Proficiencies in Crossbows, Bastard Swords, and Two-Handed Swords.)
Willow: Neutral Good Sorceress (Proficiencies in Staves and Daggers)
Xander: Chaotic Good Blade (Proficiencies in Daggers, two-weapon style)
Spike: Chaotic Neutral Shapeshifter (Proficient in Scimitars..)
Giles: True Neutral Cleric (Proficient in Maces)

Well the expelled part wasn't her fault, that guy was out to get her, literally.

As for the police, they accused her of murder. Even in the game, when you kill the Paladins, you have to hide as a fugitive until your name is cleared by that Windspear guy. Plus, is helping the Shadow Theives not Lawful Good either?

Val-Kilmers character was named Mad-Martigan, and i feel he was more of a plain fighter. willow was a thief/mage. The red-head was Princess something or other i do believe. ill take a look at the flick and get back to you, ive been planning on buying it now for some time, just keep forgetting, lol.

Hi Morgan_Corbesant,

Thanks for help with the names.

From what I remember of the flick, Willow showed no signs of thievery. Did I miss something perhaps? He just ran away and tried to do magic. Perhaps Wild Mage would be more appropriate for him than Transmuter

Mad-Martigan, however, was definately a rogue. He was the one who snuck into tent, stole the bread, did acrobatics, etc. He did dual-wield some long swords during the fight with the 2-headed fire-breathing thing which Willow transmographied a troll into. So he could be a fighter dual'd to thief, or a Swashbuckler.

If I remember rightly, the red-haired girl ws Sorsha, and the old sorceress was Finn Razelle... I suppose you could also have Eric, Martigan's soldier friend?

Eric would be a straight-up fighter, possibly a Wizard Slayer if he had actually killed any wizards.

Sorsha a Barbarian, or just a plain fighter.
Finn Razelle would definitely be a Sorceress.

As for Willow, well Mages can't use short swords so in a way you would have to make him a Theif/Mage to have a character that can use a Short Sword. Granted he only used it once in the movie. However, I suspect that he'd learn how to use one later as a last resort.

Well, from Willow the movie, Willow would definitely be a low level Nutral Good halfling thief/mage(or more accurately, sorceror or perhaps even wild mage, as his magic was internal and not well controlled). Actually, he would be more accurately described as a dual class character with about 3 or 4 levels in theif, and thendualing into mage, but in the d&d rules, non-humans cant dual.

Mad Martigan is definitely a high level Chaotic good swashbuckler.

And dont forget Sorsha, an very competent Lawful Nuetral fighter...and Freanjean and Rool...the two Brownie(Gnomes) Chaotic good or chaotic nuetral theives. And of course, Bavmorda, the Chaotic evil sorceress specializing in transmutation spells, like polymorph other.

However, I would recommend reading the Shadow War Chronicles---the ego stroking attempt by George Lucas at the Tolkien epic--that was nonetheless, well penned by everyones favorite Xmen chroniceler Chris Clairmont. The books consist of Shadow Moon, Shadow Star, and Shadow Dawn (written by Clairemont, "story" by Lucas). The books are much darker than the movie was, and are based on the events and characters of the movie "Willow", and introduce a much better cast of characters for putting together a campaign party.

In the books, Willow has become a very powerful mage in his later years, and changes his name(read the book for details) to Thorn. In d&d terms, the descriptions of the type of magic practiced by Thorn would lead him to be classified as more of theif/druid combo, who has two Eagle followers.

Then there are still the two Brownie(gnome) theives. Geryn, a character in the first book that is easily classified as a competent ranger, many assorted rougues, a humanoid sea otter (good luck classing Ryn...think an auquatic Chewbacca that is much better spoken), Khory Bannefin...a demon-spawn( a great BG tie in) female warrior with superhuman fighting ability, that would probably be a beserker in game terms, Annakerie...a possible paladin, but more likely a low level cleric/high level fighter dual class, and of course, Elora Danon (the baby from the movie) who is a powerful wild mage who also has bard training.

If you enjoyed the movie, you should definitely check out theses books.
