Earlier on this month, I promised everyone that I would document this event that happened under three years ago. I hope to get some responses on what you think. (This is a more abbreviated version, for those that don't like long stories).

I first met Karen at a church dance about 5-6 years ago. I was so afraid to ask her to dance that I almost did not. I was not practiced in the dating ways, and had never had a girlfriend before. A few friends pushed me on to finally do it, on the last song. I remember brilliant green eyes that caught the sparkle of light just the right way. I also remember being so afraid that I was shaking, literally. She sensed my fear, and began to talk. After the song, I asked her if I could take her to play tennis or something. She accepted (to my horror, because I did not know what to do after that). I thanked her, and went my way.
The day of our date, I had to work, with no way of getting out of it. I called her to apologize, and she actually was OK with it. (I later found out that she had been asked by two other guys that same night to date, and she pretty much had her pick). I forgot about her, for a while ( I know...I am sorry ), but I was always so busy, and she lived two hours away!
A year later, I got my calling to go to Mexico. She just happened to also be going on a mission at the same time, and I was lucky enough to see her in the training center for missionaries that we went to. Being missionaries, we could not strike up some personal chat, and so we had to keep our distance, and such. (I found out later that she was shocked to see me there at the school, and tried her best to avoid me, mostly because she thought of me as a Hick, which is a southern slain talking good-ol' boy, that has no education. She was repulsed by me, and wanted nothing to do with me, though she tried to be nice about it.)
I finally went to Mexico, and served for two years. When I got back, I remembered her, but knew that she must be married by now. I started on the dating thing, with more confidence now, as I had lost my southern accent and replaced it with a nice Mexican overtone that the girls loved to listen to
I had a little success in friendly dates, but could never get my mind off of whatever happened to Karen. I finally made a trip to Winston Salem to attend another dance, and there she was! AHH! Well, she was not married, I could see. So, with my renewed confidence, and a cute accent, I approached her and began talking. She was marvelling at me so much, I could see it!. I asked her out to attend a rodeo with me, and she accepted. That was date #1. After the date, when she dropped me off at home (My license had expired during my mission), as I was going up to the door, she gets out of the car, and asks..."Where's my Hug?"

The next week, on Saturday(I only got to see her on the week-ends) we went out to a park and walked and talked.
The next week, we went to Linville Falls where there was all these waterfalls around to go see, and they all spilled into a lake with a large box-shaped rock that we discovered could hold two people upon climbing to the top of it. It was there that she decided to kiss me, for the first time. I remember after the kiss, I asked her ..."did I do it right?"...She almost fell off the rock laughing at me.
The next Saturday, we went to her Sister's house in Goldsboro, NC where her sister and sister's husband have a hog farm. We were walking down to the barns, with the hogs smell and noises in the air, when I started talking about my letters that I had been writing her. She remembered in one of my notes that I had memtioned being comfortable with our path towards the future. I asked her what was so big about that line, and she said "Well, you should be thinking about our present condition, shouldn't you?" I responded that I was also feeling good about our current status, and she stopped in the middle of the road and said..."Not until you ask me..."
...
Well...what else could a man do at that point? I had been set up! She gave me the bait, and I took it, hook line and sinker.
...
"Will you marry me?" I felt dizzy, and sweaty. I could not focus on her face, because I was so blamed scared. She stopped...looked around...looked back at my eyes, and smiled. "Yes".
...
Then we both just stood there. We were oblivious to the fact that a car was coming until he started beeping for us to get out of his way.

We decided that we would get married on December 18th. It was currently May, and we were both attending college. December 17th was final exams.
...
It was difficult to tell the parents. I won't get into all that, right now.
...
After the wedding, we did not have any money, and I had quit my job in Lenoir to move to Winston with her. We got a cheap apartmemt, and never even got to go on a honeymoon. The first week after the wedding, I got real bad sick with a flu. I took some medicine, and had an alergic reaction to it that burst me out in spots. After that, I got a terrible ear infection. And I had not even started work yet! Finally, my bad luck subsided after I had to go to the dentist to get a Wisdom tooth removed.
...
Karen had bought a little teddy bear that held a baby bear in it's arms. She took the baby out and said that whenever I came home and found the baby in it's place, in the mother bear's arms, that would mean that she was pregnant. Nine months later, that happened. We moved out of that appt. into a better one, then moved again into our home that we currently have.
Any more information or detail will be gladley shared if you ask for it. I don't want to bore you too much, and there is so much more to tell. This will suffice for now.
I hope that others will share their experiences.
Especially if they have any humorous side to them.

Watch out now, hugging on the first date!! You animal!

If I got the timeline right here, you got married 3 weeks after the first date? That's pretty quick!

How long ago was this? Did all this happen recently?
