I believe NWN will be the Greatest game to date. BTW, you will be able to use your BG characters in NWN.

I've been watching the demos for NWN and it looks really cool. The way they do the lighting and shading is pretty advanced. Well, to me anyways. LOL. Only thing I thought kind of odd was that the Fire elemntal doesn't cast light. Weird.

Is the game strictly multiplayer? I thought I saw somewhere that it's also going to have a single player element?

That would be so cool. I can't wait for NWN to get started. It's been awhile since I could find a group for PnP D&D, especially since I work nights. Would be great to find a game online. Course, I do understand that if I do use my BGII characters, that I will have to find a DM that will allow non-Vault characters though. They say that if you don't start off in NWN, your character will not be able to go in their vault. I wonder what other changes they have made? They say that they are using 3.0 rules. That would be so awesome. From some of what I've seen of 3rd edition, it looks a lot better than 2nd edition.

It's good they prevent BGII characters from going into the Vault. As you can suspect, people will introduce their 25-all stats characters and proceed to hack apart everyone who didn't cheat. I heard that you would import your characters as level 1s. If they came in as level 26, it'd sort of take the fun out of it.

Yeah, but then for those of us that have raised their characters by playing the game (mostly anyways) and earning the experience, it's good to know that we will still be able to port them into NWN in a non-vault setting. I already have two friends that are going to get something together once they get the software. Can't wait.

If it doesn't have single player I'd be very disappointed. Probably wouldn't even buy it.
I'd hate to have to rely on other players to fulfil my gaming addiction... |

yep it does have a single player mode as well. When the game comes out I am going to be a DM. In fact I already have pleanty of quests made for PnP the best involving a gods avatar. Also this thread should be in the Never Winter Nights section.

It should be, but then no one would have replied to it because no one ever goes there.
*Realizing that by posting he's doomed this thread to freefall like all the others he ever replied to, he goes and sulks in the corner* |
