I have had troubbles with my harddrive and the fat-table have been destroyed twice. The first time I had gotten as far as the underdark, the secon time I got to kill Bohdie with the halp of Drizzt. After the sacond time I am fed up with walking through the whole game to get the items and spells i had before the crash. Therefor I trie to resort to the sheetcodes in the game, but when I try to use them i get the msg. "Iua:call ecpression not a funktion". I have written the line "Debug Mode=1" in the .ini file but it wont work.
Please, if somone knows how to get past this problem, help me. I dont want do do it all over again. |

Sorry Cyric I can't answer your question but I'm wondering why you don't run from a saved game rather than "walking through the whole game again"?

Because the FAT table is a system table allowing Windows to access files. So no FAT table => fiiles are there but not accessible. So no accessible saved game either.
Except ... if Cyric performs a copy of his saved games on an external support (CD, Zip, ...) from time to time. I know that tools exist allowing to recover from FAT crashes, but I hadn't had to use them for a long time, so I don't know what is the latest fashion. Please tell me if you want me to try to make a search for you, Cyric. ------------------ The world is my oyster ! |

That would be real nice of you Moiraine, I got the disk in a antistat-bag(20Gb useless), I bought a new instead. If you could find a way to get thi info out it would be really good. It's an IBM Deskstar DPTA-372050.

Grrr, I still can't get tha codes to work...Any other ideas? Or another way to sheet, not using the codes, a big amount of money would be anough, a few items wouldn't hurt.

Cyric, here are 3 links to companies selling a set of utilities allowing, among other useful features, to repair crashed hard drives (including FAT recovery).
Unfortunately, I don't know of any free software. Maybe you can find on these sites a free trial version ? Anyway, if the data in your hard drive is very important to you, I strongly recommend that you give one of them a try. According to reviews, Norton Utilities is (still) the best, but it is not the cheapest. Here they are : (Norton) http://www.symantec.com/nu/ (MacAfee) http://www.helixsoftware.com/ (DriveClinic) http://www.datadepot.com.au/driveclinic.htm ------------------ The world is my oyster ! |
