There was a thread asking Canadians which city they were from. Might be an idea to see where the Aussies from the board are from.

Feel free to be as specific or general as you like.

I though you lived in Mandurah, West Australia? Is Mackay where you grew up?

I'm not sure now...Cremorne was only the last Aussie residence he had - and he wasn't there all that long.

So, I've lived in many parts of Sydney (east, inner west, city, south west, south, west) over the last 20 years - the bulk of my formative years spent in the south west Bankstown area. Before that was a very short stint in Wollongong following a number of years in northwest Western Australia.
I started life in the southern outskirts of Sydney.

I think Yorick's still trying to claim he's Australian...

What a remarkable coincidence! That's exactly the same as me! Except I started life near the centre of Sydney in Paddington. But I even had a stint in northwest Australia too. Wow.

[/QUOTE]You guys are so funny! LOL!

It's whatever the heck you want to interpret it as. For some "where you're from" is where you are, for others it's where you grew up.

I didn't grow up in Cremorne, and so I'm not from Cremorne. I wouldn't actually say I'm from anywhere more specific than "Sydney" and "Australia", because my family moved around, and as an adult I moved around a bit as well.

But I do feel at home in New York.

Now, how's this. I'd heard there were 8,000 Aussies in New York, but someone the other day said there were 15,000.
However London apparently has 300,000. That's larger than many Aussie towns!
