I almost forgot to post this when I ran across the CNN news on our most recent election court battle result...

The statue in the Crypt. It looks like it is hanging off its platform edge and I can get behind it but I don't know why? I suspect the passage it will open is on the opposite wall. In any case I also have the locket and I have tried all sorts of things and several different people in the party to get something to happen to no avail. I used the Priest once. I read the amulet inscription. I tried wearing it and then giving or using it. I tried giving or using it without wearing it. I tried talking to the statue to say the inscription but no words came up. Damn... I just realized that I could type the phrase in--that I may not have to _only_ pick from the word list! Sounds good to me but I will post this just in case so you can leave me some clues if even this thought is wrong. Thanks.

Secondly, the Toads... I gave the potion to the one toad down around Nymph Lake and wiped out some Nymphs while I was at it. I have visited and revisited the Toad Village and its area and talked to the "cold-skined" leader too. The team is suppose to get rid of some evil that is attacking or hiding a totem or the toads can't use the totem until some evil has been delt with BUT WHAT IS IT and where is it? Don't understand the quest at this point. Thank you.

Well, you probably did get it right just now with the statue, just enter the sentence from the amulet on the keyword.
with the toad quest, you have to go down the ladder in the hole just in front of Shinwicki, that will take you to the area where you can find the EVIL.
I got hung just in those two places myself, only solved it with the board. If you play some more you'll get the hang of how many things work in the game, and you'll need less and less hints.

The inscription on the amulet are the words you need to speak to the Kerah statue - to do so, select the words if they happen to be in your TALK window, or type them in and then click on the statue of Kerah. She should then open up the passageway that is behind you as you face the statue.

When you talked to Shinwiki, did he open the trapdoor in his room?? You need to keep talking to him until he opens up that trap door. Go down there and explore all the areas available. This will bring you to the totem area and the problem. Remember after you defeat that baddies to touch the totem!
