So i deceided to take cable-acces since you pay the same amound of money every month and its quite a bit faster.
Unfortunatly its incredibly expensive so my question to you is;
Does anyone use a cable conection cause im wondering if its worth it.
Or are their perhaps better (=cheaper) alternatives.

Cable is a MUSt for hosting games.. it's fast as a T1 is some areas.. BUT, some Cable Modem Companies don't allow you to host game servers , so make sure you read the fine print

We have VDSL through a T3 line, and our ISP is 2 miles from our house. Our connection is sweet! We pay $35.00 per month, and are able to have 5 computers online at once. Almost no 'drop-offs' from it. I recommend it if you have it available. I suspect that Cable is more prevelant tho.

What is VDSL? How many megabits is it? 2? I hope that comes to my area, we just have ADSL and Cable.. 1.5mb (Megabit)

I have cable, and I wouldn't go back to phone modem for anything! I too pay $40 Cdn per month (what's that, like 5 cents US now????) and it's worth every penny! It's an amazing difference from my old 56K...

Cable is potentially faster. DSL is more reliable. I have a 512k DSL modem and I'm pretty happy. I've long since forgotten the days where I used to chug along on a 56k modem.
