The Die-Hard Datto

This was inspired by Yorick's do ya like cars?.

I dug up these old photos from '99 when i had my datto. The most fun i ever had in that car was trying to kill it that day. And i had a LOT of fun before then. It wasn't easy. It took the best part of the afternoon doing circlework, rally driving and bulldozing (albeit incredibly slow circlework, rally driving and bulldozing) before the 'ol girl finally packed it in. But we gave her no less than the proper farewell she deserved - the viking funeral.

Oh. Water on the points and not a single can of WD40 in 20kms. Bummer.

Note to self: always remove license plates before incinerating vehicle. That's hot!

Damn, i just remembered i left a street directory in the glove box.

All in all, it was a fun day. Best 300 bucks i ever spent. The big puddle kinda ruined my plans, however. Just out of view of the last photo is a 20 metre drop-off which i had originally intended for the finale. A flaming Datto plummeting into the ground would have looked so cool.
